The Olympus First Apply is the newest addition to the Rational Product family. The First Apply can be purchased as a new machine or existing customers can upgrade their Olympus OP60 printers onsite in less than 30 min per machine. Although the First Apply is specifically designed to handle the environment and demands of an egg packaging facility it is an extremely versatile machine that can cope with a wide range of products.

Proprietary software allows for multiple images to be loaded and printed simultaneously across the entire system. This allows labels to be downloaded in minimal time to ensure that every pack has a label applied without the need to stop production.

Data Matrix code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode consisting of black and white "cells" or modules arranged in either a square or rectangular pattern. This code can store an enormous amount of data eventually replacing all conventional barcodes.

Uneven products? Labelling uneven products can be challenging without the right equipment. The Olympus OP60 First Apply uses a tamp cylinder to pick up the label that has just been printed, the tamp arm then extends to the product. When the product has been detected by the sensor the arm will retract to its home position ready for a new label. This is ideal for any product that varies in height.
